If we have to cut down on plastic bags for the good of the environment, how come the majority of ladies’ handbags are made of plastic?

I wandered round the local small town looking for a large handbag to hold all the rubbish I carry. You can go for traditional leather or plastic handbag or outdoor type not often waterproof bags or hessian shopping. Somewhere along the way, these plastic bags have got overlooked or is it me? Yes I saw a very few material ones (and not exactly pretty) at a price that made the eyes water.
