Chocolate nag???

Ok so here something thats been bugging me- chocolate, the uk is the second biggest chocolate consumer after only switzerland even the U.S.A don’t consume as much as we do, many of the cocoa farmers involved in the production don’t get paid nearly enough to survive on, I have been thinking- we could perhaps nag the chocolate comopanies or maybe ask the naggers to commit to buying fairtrade chocolate more often?

  • I agree, nag me to eat more or only fair-trade chocs.

I keep on eating Green&Blacks chocolate. It was sad to hear they were taken over by Schweppes but are still doing good for the farmers – and the choc’late is real choc’late and reminds me of the choc’late from back home!

Of course with UK choclate you’ll also have to look where the milk (if there is real milk in it!) comes from and be fair to those farmers too!

  • I’m thinking of making it possible (and easy) for people to create their own nags. If I did, would you use it to create a chocolate nag?

  • Yes definatly, id give it a go!

  • Chocolate nagging would be good, but it could easily be extended to all fairly traded goods I would have thought. Have only recently discovered that it’s possibly to buy fairly traded jewellery.

Creating our own nags is kind of a good idea, but the basic idea that we get nagged only once a month will disappear, which may lead to people unsubscribing….

  • well, people would still get emailed once a month (or, people would actually get emailed once a month :), there’d just be a bigger range of nags to choose from once they got there

glad you like the idea – it’ll be coming to you first!

    all good things,
