  • Learning about gardening, permaculture and how to successfully run a community garden

Has anyone been to visit a community garden yet? You can probably reduce your workload an awful lot just by making friends with someone who's done the budgeting and planning already and asking them a few questions. Look in the documents section of this group- there's information from a community garden. I suspect that they would hand you a copy of their budget and funding application if you asked nicely. • Site Wants and Moans

Please write any changes you'd like us to make to the site here. These elements of the site are brand new, and not in public domain yet. Lots of bits don't work fully yet and the design of much of it can and will be refined over the next few weeks. Any comments you have on the existing bits, and desires you have for any bits that don't seem to be here - 'it would be really useful if we had...' - are welcome!

  • User Research: How do we go about it?

A few principles 1. Listen carefully; accept and give a positive response to everything they say. Your objective is to understand, not to pursuade. Generally, the more you tell them about your opinions, they more they'll try to tell you what they think you want to hear - if they like your opinions - or try to argue with you if they don't. The point is to get as close as possible to the honesty of where they're coming from and what t…

  • User Research: What do we want to know?

OK, here's my starter for 10 - you've probably got loads of ideas - hopefully (if the tech works) you can post them below and we can all see everybody's input. For the allottment: Who would like to get involved? How much time would they like to put in? What are their contact details? Do they have any useful knowledge and skills - eg, how to grow stuff? Maybe make a note of ethnicity, age, occupation so that we know if we're hitting ou…
