And now a little experiment…

What would it take to beat Iceland?

In Britain, we could get 85% of our electricity from renewable, green sources.
(20% from wind, 20% from the sea, 40% from microgeneration, and 5% from biomass and solar.)

But, at the moment, we only get 5%.

Iceland, on the other hand, gets 72% of its electricity from renewables.

Here’s the plan: when you switch to green energy, the energy companies PROMISE to take that much energy from green sources. Which means, if they run out, they HAVE TO build new ones.

So, we got to thinking. What if we asked a bunch of people to switch to green energy and then they asked a bunch of people. How many people could we all get to switch to green energy?

You ask two people. Then that’s you done.
Then they ask two people… and they ask two people. Well, pretty soon we’ll be the greenest country this side of Greenland…
