For when / if you do fly, here is:
The Nag’s Guide to Offsetting Your Flights
What is carbon offsetting, and is it any good?
1. Use the Climate Care website to figure out how much CO2 your bit of the flight emitted and how much it would cost to offset. You could offset with Climate Care or...
2. Go to Tree Aid and make a donation. It’s a fantastic charity that helps communities in Africa to plant trees. Projects are owned and managed by the communities themselves, rather than imposed on them, and the trees are mainly fruit and nut trees, providing a source of nutrition and / or income as well as sucking up carbon and helping to protect the soil from desertification.
It doesn’t claim to offer an offsetting service, but it’s a great charity that does the opposite of what we do when we fly.
