I hate cold callers

I hate it when people from random companies call my house and waste my time

To Stop Cold Callers

There is a handy way to stop cold callers suggested by AndrewL, register with Telephone Preference Service!

Telephone Preference Service is new to me and I shall be telling others about when I hear them complain. Help me spread the word!

    Good news!

I received an email from the consumer focus labs people today, and found that dealing with cold calls, is the next thing project they're working on, now that their first website to provide a central resource for recalled products has gone live.

If their previous work is anything to go by, this should end up being much more useful than the Direct Marketing Association's efforts with the telephone, mail and fax preference systems.

Yeah I did this one and it really has reduced, if not ceased, all the cold calls.  So nice to not answer the phone only to hear a recorded message telling me Ive won a free Cruise around the Med.

    Thanks Nag!

I signed up for this, and the Mailing Preference Service and the Fax Preference Service, and I'm not getting much in the way of junk mail or pestering phone calls, and a few of my friends have had the same experience now, so it does seem to work.

To get stop getting faxes, phones and letters though you need to sign up three times, one for each service.

    Still, it's (probably) worth it.
